To celebrate the important dates that have given Mexico its identity, we have produced this beautiful Catrina and called her Adelita, who came to be an archetype of a woman warrior in Mexico and a symbol of action and inspiration. Additionally, her name refers to any woman who struggles and fights for her rights.

"La Adelita" is one of the most famous "corridos" (Mexican musical genre) of the Mexican Revolution. "La Adelita" is one of the most famous "corridos" (Mexican musical genre) of the Mexican Revolution. Adelita became synonymous with the term "soldadera" or female soldier, representing a vital force in the revolutionary war efforts due to their participation in the battles against Mexican government forces.

The traditional Adelita dress is made with crinoline and very commonly with ruffles at the base. Over time, different representations of this type of clothing have been made by artists, but two things have not changed and are considered the stereotype of an "Adelita": The bullet belt and the hat.

Our take for this piece of art was to use the colors of the Mexican flag, green, white, and red, on each ruffle and a distinctive "Charro" hat finished off with gold trim all over her dress and hat.

As a brave soldier, she could not miss carrying a bullet belt, which our artist has elaborated with such incredible detail.
We are so excited to present Adelita, one of our favorites of all time!

Her brave companion, Emiliano was a leader in the Mexican Revolution, he was the General leader of the peasant revolution and the inspiration of the agrarian movement called Zapatismo.

Emiliano was an idealistic leader who taught people to be loyal to their beliefs and fight for justice and equality.  He represents a vital force in the revolutionary war efforts due to his participation in the battles against Mexican government forces.

Emiliano is wearing a distinctive charro hat, gold trim to match his vest and jacket, and a red tie to symbolize bravery and passion.
